Hany Malik, MBA, Psy.D
Chairman and Founder

Dr. Hany Malik has more than 20 years of business experience, with a unique professional and academic background that combines business and psychology. His specific areas of expertise include executive coaching, leadership development, strategic planning, and team effectiveness. Prior to founding Suntiva, Hany worked for many years in senior leadership roles at an internationally recognized technology consulting company. There he directed large software development projects for government and private-sector clients, led large-scale change management initiatives, and created and implemented a leadership and career development program for one of the company’s largest business units.

Hany has an MBA from the State University of New York, a doctorate in clinical psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology, a masters-level certificate in Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Cairo University. Hany is also currently a faculty member at Georgetown University.


Michael Dow
Chief Executive Officer

Michael Dow brings significant experience in business consulting and management, including 12 years as a general manager and senior business leader. He spent 15 years as a consultant with American Management Systems, Inc. (AMS) in Fairfax, VA. In his final AMS role, he served as a Vice President in the U.S. Public Sector group, responsible for the strategy and growth of the $300M Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) line of business. While at AMS, he successfully launched several product and services-based businesses, which have generated total revenues of nearly $500M. Results achieved by Michael’s organizations have been featured in numerous publications, including Fortune and TIME Magazine.

Michael has a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering, with a concentration in Management Information Systems, from the University of Virginia. He also earned an Executive MBA through the Harvard Business School General Manager Program.


Rodney Matsushima, CPCM
Executive Vice President

Rodney Matsushima is a highly-regarded thought leader and acquisition expert with 30+ years of experience in government procurement policy and process, and a proven record of success in developing and building businesses related to public sector procurement and acquisition. Achieving the designation as Acquisition Professional, he held responsible positions as a warranted procuring and administrative contracting officer (PCO and ACO), and as a military professor at the Naval Postgraduate School, teaching in the Acquisition and Contract Management curricula. He served for 20 years as an officer in the US Navy Supply Corps, specializing in the Acquisition and Contract Management field. Since his retirement from the Navy, Rodney has become a recognized industry leader in providing people, process, and technology solutions to a wide range of public sector procurement organizations. He has worked at consulting and software firms to include AMS, SAP, DSIC, PAI, and others. He is also currently an Adjunct Professor for the Naval Postgraduate School’s International Defense Acquisition Resource Management Program. Rodney is frequently called on to personally support critical government initiatives, such as his recent work for DHS and FEMA to analyze all contracts awarded in response to Hurricane Katrina.

Rodney has a Bachelors Degree from Purdue University, and a Masters Degree in Acquisition and Contract Management from the Navy Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. He is Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level III certified, and serves on the Board of Advisors for the National Contract Management Association (NCMA). He is also an NCMA Fellow.


Eric Henson
Vice President

Eric Henson joins Suntiva with over 15 years of experience in providing consulting services to the Federal Government. Most recently, he was a member of the Deloitte and Touche Federal Practice in Washington, DC, where he contributed to the development of a comprehensive capture management program, which helped Deloitte achieve 40% growth in the Federal Marketplace. Additionally, Eric spent 10+ years as a business and IT consultant with American Management Systems, Inc. (AMS) in Fairfax, VA. There he managed major client engagements, led major capture efforts, supported the launch and growth of the business process reengineering (BPR) practice, and contributed to the development of the DoD consulting practice. Prior to AMS, Eric worked with Veda Incorporated as a business consultant supporting various US Navy Systems programs.

Eric has a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, and a Masters of Science Degree in Systems Engineering, both from Virginia Tech.


Bill Hough
Vice President

Bill Hough has over 20 years of experience in business and IT consulting and management, both in the United States and internationally. Prior to joining Suntiva, Bill served as a Vice President at an internationally-recognized consulting firm as well as at a Fortune 50 Financial Services firm, where he was in charge of the IT Centers of Expertise in the areas of project management, software development, business intelligence, and quality assurance that included over 1,500 persons, with a budget in excess of $200M. Bill has significant experience in managing complex projects, and in leading breakthrough transformational change, particularly in the IT/ITIL space. Bill also has deep functional experience in the financial services, telecommunications, and federal government sectors.

Bill has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (Phi Beta Kappa) from William and Mary and a Certificate in Organization Development from Georgetown University. He also has a culinary degree from L’Academie de Cuisine.


Jonathan Katz
Vice President

Jon joins Suntiva with extensive experience in both the US military and private industry. He began his career in the US Marine Corps, serving for more than 20 years in infantry, logistics, and acquisition. His wide-ranging assignments included multiple deployments in the Western Pacific, command of a logistics support unit, and command of the Marine Corps Recruiting Station in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Jon also held several acquisition-related positions as the Director of Contracts at both Camp Lejeune, and the Marine Corps Forces Southwest Asia during the Persian Gulf War. His final tour was as a Program Manager at Manpower & Reserve Affairs in Quantico, Virginia. Since his retirement from the Marines, Jon has held several positions in private industry, most recently to include Battelle Memorial Institute’s Stafford Operations, where he managed a portfolio of programs in support of the Marine Corps at Quantico, Virginia.

Jon earned his B.S. in Business Administration from Montclair State University in New Jersey, and since has earned an M.S. in Acquisition and Contract Management from the Navy Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, an M.A. in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College, and the Advanced Professional Designation in Logistics Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology. He is certified DAWIA Level III in Contracting, Level II in Program Management, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).


Brion W. Loftus
Vice President

Brion Loftus brings to Suntiva over 25 years of broad experience in acquisition, including federal contracting, program management, and IT acquisition. During a career in the U.S. Navy Supply Corps, he gained experience in both the operational environment and in various program management assignments. He has performed a variety of program management roles, including business and financial Management, logistics, and major automated information system management roles. Among his assignments were leadership roles at Naval Sea Systems Command, Defense Logistics Agency, Defense Contract Management Agency, Office of the Undersecretary of Defense (Comptroller), and Commander, Fifth Fleet Headquarters. As a consultant in the defense industry, Brion has been employed in the acquisition support arena by American Management Systems and in the IT consulting arena by Gartner Consulting.

Brion earned his BA degree at Virginia Tech, and his MS in Acquisition and Contract Management from the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA. He is also a graduate of the Advanced Program Managers’ Course at Defense Systems Management College. He is certified DAWIA Level III in Program Management and Contract Management.


Kimberly Waldman
Vice President

Kim Waldman brings more than 15 years of experience integrating knowledge and expertise in organization development, change management, training and facilitation, human capital management, and operations management with business strategy. She has held senior leadership roles for the past ten years at Suntiva and in the automotive and retail industries. Kim currently oversees the Organizational Performance Service Line as well as the company’s Quality Assurance and Risk Management programs. Ms. Waldman has enjoyed serving as an Account Lead for the Defense Logistics Agency, the Department of Energy, the Federal Election Commission, and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. She also stood-up Suntiva’s own Human Resources function and continues to serve as a senior advisor in the area of human capital.

Kim has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan, with a concentration in the Social Sciences. She also earned a Certificate in Organization Development and Change Management from Georgetown University and a Masters of Science in Organization Development (MSOD) from Pepperdine University.


Julie Curtis
Vice President

Julie Curtis brings over 15 years of experience in business and IT consulting, program management, business development, and strategic alliances. Prior to joining Suntiva, she served as Vice President at Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. (ACS), where she was in charge of ACS Global Alliances and developed ACS' first Alliance Program with Fortune 100 companies. Ms. Curtis was previously a Senior Principal at American Management Systems, Inc. (AMS) where she led a number of strategic initiatives including development of AMS Alliance Programs, as well as procurement and contract management solutions development and delivery. She also managed large federal IT contracts while a Contracts Manager at CEXEC.

Julie earned her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from the University of Colorado in Boulder, CO, and is a member of the Association of Strategic Alliances.


Alison Miller
Director

Alison Miller joins Suntiva with over 20 years of experience in government and private sector management consulting. She began her career as a systems engineer supporting large-scale integration projects and progressed to managing strategic planning and information technology programs. She has worked for IBM, GE, Mobil Oil, TRW, and as Vice President with Idea Integration, she led teams to provide comprehensive business solutions to clients, including full life-cycle software development solutions. In her role as Vice President of Technology for Monster’s Government Solutions group she championed revamping products and services to meet federal and commercial clients human capital needs. At Suntiva, she serves as a leadership coach and organizational effectiveness and leadership development advisor to align people, systems, and business processes.

Alison earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Clarkson University, and a Masters in Business Administration from Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management. Alison holds a Certificate in Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University and is a Certified Coach through the International Coach Federation (ICF).


Sheryl Peck, Ph.D.
Director

Dr. Sheryl Peck is responsible for the strategic direction, planning, and management of Suntiva’s leadership development services. As a well-established executive coach and leadership consultant, she also provides coaching and leadership services to both public and private sector organizations, including VeriSign, Booz Allen Hamilton, the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Sheryl’s psychology and research background also supports Suntiva in the development of leadership methodologies and executive assessment programs. Her research in psychology has been published in numerous academic journals.

Sheryl holds a Certificate in Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University, has a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Virginia, a Masters degree in Psychology from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a Bachelors Degree from Wheaton College.


Sara Rohling
Director

Sara Rohling brings 15+ years of experience in organization development, management, coaching, communications, finance, and marketing. Prior to joining Suntiva, she worked in large international organizations and technology and management consulting firms, to include Booz Allen Hamilton and Westinghouse. Her particular strengths include working with teams, building open, trusting and collaborative relationships, and creating momentum in complex projects. Sara currently manages Suntiva’s commercial business practice and FDA work, as well as delivering coaching, organization development and change management services to various clients.

Sara has a Bachelors Degree (with Honors) in Business Studies from the University of Ulster, Northern Ireland, and a Masters Degree in International Law, specializing in human rights, from Queen’s University in Belfast, Northern Ireland. She serves as a faculty member in the Georgetown University Organization Development program, and holds several certifications to include postgraduate certificates in Organization Development, and Leadership Coaching through Georgetown University. Sara is certified as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coach Federation.
