Program Management

Suntiva understands that the success of large, complex programs is as much about leadership and “people” issues as it is about the details of cost, schedule, and performance.  In fact, studies show that most often, large programs fail because of a lack of strategic alignment between key stakeholders and macro-level program priorities and requirements.  Successful organizations have moved beyond traditional program management approaches focused on how to “do things right” and now take a broader, portfolio-based view to “do the right things.”

Suntiva combines our expertise in these areas with a keen understanding of the human dimension – how to ensure that key leaders and staff will support these major initiatives to achieve lasting and successful outcomes for the organization.  Our consultants have been senior leaders in the Program Office -- as industry prime contractors and integrators, as procurement executives and as leaders in the customer organization bringing critical insights and knowledge from all of these perspectives.  Our expertise in program management includes:

Program Management Support

Program Risk Assessments

Business Process Optimization

Program Startup & Strategy Planning

Construction Management

Program Management Support

We provide expert, certified staff to ensure successful execution of critical programs in the role as trusted advisor and/or liaison between program management, contracting, industry, and the end customer. We provide support during the planning and pre-award/acquisition phase as well as critical knowledge transfer and continuity as the program transitions from acquisition to implementation.

Program Risk Assessments

We leverage our Organizational Assessment Model and methodology to identify key areas of risk across all program dimensions.  We know that critical issues can fall in the “gaps” between the Program Office, Contracting Office, and the end customer organization – and we understand how to best address these gaps.  Combined with our doctoral-level knowledge of human factors and organizational dynamics, we can quickly identify “root cause” issues in people, process, and technology – and recommend effective strategies to make changes work successfully.

Business Process Optimization

Our wide range of business process re-engineering (BPR) and process optimization engagements start with in-depth assessments, then on to process re-design and ultimately change implementation.  Our tailored and proven assessment methodology includes a deep dive into the areas of people, process, and technology – ensuring that the root cause issues are identified and addressed in any subsequent re-design effort.  We support CIO organizations, large IT programs, and federal procurement/contracting organizations that seek ways to streamline and/or improve performance.

Program Startup & Strategy Planning

We have supported the maturation of programs from incubation through full deployment and maintenance.  We understand the significant challenges faced by the Program Manager to align sponsorship, governance, objectives, tactical plans, and end user needs, while simultaneously building the infrastructure and personnel for the organization.  Our methodology for integrated program and strategic planning ensures that valuable start-up resources are optimized and focused on ‘doing the right things’, to avoid costly missteps often experienced in this stage.  Our experienced program managers bring high-energy and lessons learned, which help motivate the organization, create early wins, and implement the foundational resources and materials to ultimately achieve the program’s objectives.

Construction Management

We provide a wide range of construction management services, with a focus on program outcomes and ensuring that projects meet cost, schedule, and quality expectations.  Our expertise ranges from project quality assurance and program oversight to acquisition support and engineering expertise.  We currently provide oversight and technical support for multiple government construction projects at various locations across the United States, to include expertise in quality assurance, construction representatives, engineering techs, and contract administration support.  Specific projects include Military Reserve Centers, Hospitals, and Dormitories.  Suntiva staff work closely with our customers to identify and develop the scope of work and program plan, and to ensure on-time delivery.
