Being active is a high priority for me, especially now that I have a family, and being reimbursed for my gym membership and running events has not only encouraged me, but allowed me to participate in more activities. Employee Wellness Program

History
Suntiva launched an Employee Wellness Program in January 2011, open to all Suntiva employees to encourage employees to set their own personal, realistic goals to work their way to wellness.  This program is fun and free with a self-paced structure to accommodate people of all ages and abilities.

Mission
The mission of the Suntiva Employee Wellness Program is to promote workforce health and productivity by offering accessible and tailored programs that use proven offerings and the latest advances in fitness, nutrition, wellness and health management.  As a leading management consulting firm, Suntiva is committed to innovative benefit programs that support employees in achieving their wellness objectives. 

The Details
This multi-faceted, award-winning program provides:

  • Employee reimbursements for a wide range of wellness expenses, from gym memberships and equipment to sports leagues, event entry fees, nutrition/diet programs, and other wellness-based activities; 
  • Employees with regular wellness information and updates on the latest fitness information, nutrition tips, and health management advice through the company intranet portal; and 
  • The use of the latest wellness tracking devices so that participants can gauge their progress online and track their personal wellness goals and initiatives.

Suntiva’s Employee Wellness Program includes regular competitions and events to encourage participation, and links to the company’s corporate giving and charitable donations programs. In the first year, Suntiva donated to three local children-based charities consistent with the Suntiva’s corporate and community-based giving initiatives, as well as awarding all eligible employees in competition-based challenges. This dual-purpose Wellness Program benefits our employees and the local community by linking Wellness initiatives to our charitable contributions.  Our employees are encouraged to participate in wellness activities that enhance their health and stay active in the community by supporting local charities.  Suntiva’s leadership is truly committed to our motto of Great Minds, Great Hearts, and Great Health!

In 2012 the Wellness Coach and Committee are taking the Employee Wellness Program to the next level by rolling out a new program using the Fitbit® Tracker which wirelessly tracks and automatically updates steps, distance, and calories burned to the employee’s computer.  The online program also tracks food, workouts, and monitors sleep patterns if desired.  This new program integrates comprehensive software data analytics with the Fitbit® Tracker device to help our employees make more informed choices that will lead to healthier lives!
