We are seeking a dynamic, high-energy, results-oriented leader to join our team as a Senior Contracts Specialist.  The right candidate is hands-on, a self-starter, enjoys multi-tasking, is flexible, and is passionate about the opportunity to work with highly motivated, skilled professionals in support of a large federal program. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, the Senior Contracts Specialist will be responsible for providing expert functional and technical knowledge in the area of acquisitions.  Primary duties will include:

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Providing expert functional and technical support in the areas of pre-solicitation, solicitation, post-award, and closeout
  • Providing expert functional and technical support encompassing business operations, to include but not limited to monitoring contracting regulations, preparing policy letters/notices, and assisting with electronic business processes
  • Cost analysis and pricing support
  • Independently develop innovative procurement solutions to optimize business issues
  • Authoring contracts documents such as source selection plans, market research, pre-solicitation documentation, negotiation memoranda, post-award contract administration documents, and vendor correspondence
  • Interpreting DoD 5000 series program guidelines and regulations
  • Applying all aspects of the acquisition life cycle in ACAT programs
  • Tracking actions to support program requirements and program management efforts
  • Assisting with on-going acquisition, production and integration efforts in working group meetings, Integrated Product Team (IPT) sessions, process reviews and other meetings as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Contracts/Acquisitions Management or a related field
  • Minimum six (6) years experience in DoD/federal procurement
  • Experience working in a cost-type contracting environment
  • DAWIA Level III (CON) certification or equivalent is required
  • Experience in using Standard Procurement System (SPS/PD2) is required
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the FAR and DFARS

Additional Qualifications

  • Masters Degree or MBA is highly preferred
  • Additional contracting certifications (i.e. CFCM, CPCM) is preferred

Clearances

  • Qualified candidates must possess active SECRET clearance
