Department of Energy Selects Suntiva to Provide Organization Performance, Leadership Development and Procurement Support

Key Focus Includes Managers and Employees at Office of Legacy Management

FALLS CHURCH, VA, March 8, 2011…Suntiva, a trusted advisor to leaders in achieving their most critical business outcomes, announced today that the Company was selected once again to design and implement a wide-ranging, integrated series of programs focusing on organization performance and leadership development, as well as procurement support to both managers and employees at the Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Legacy Management (LM) for 2011.  The Office manages the Department’s post-closure responsibilities for the nation’s nuclear weapons complex and ensures the protection of human health and the environment. Suntiva has provided similar services to this Office since 2007.

As one of only two organizations in the entire U.S. government to receive the designation as a High Performing Organization (HPO), LM is committed to the ongoing development of its organization and leaders in support of meeting their strategic objectives and in the most effective and efficient way possible.

The primary goals of Suntiva’s consulting effort are to support and help the organization maintain its standing as an HPO, enhance individual leadership and business competencies, to uncover organizational opportunities to improve business processes and to assist in the development and implementation of a major acquisition strategy.

Suntiva has maintained its comprehensive support of LM over the past four years based on its unique consulting methodology that combines business expertise with the discipline of psychology and as a result of the positive, measurable results that it LM has achieved to date. With an initial objective in 2006 of improving the employees’ Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey results, Suntiva has demonstrated that by 2010:

  • In 2010, LM increased its positive responses to the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey by greater than 5% in comparison to DOE overall.  LM also received positive scores of 10% or better than DOE on more than one-third of the 78 questions.
  • LM employees had increased their positive ratings on job satisfaction by 10.3% since 2006.  Leaders are consistently rated higher today than in 2006 in terms of communication and employee feedback, supporting employee development, generating employee respect and high levels of motivation, linking pay to performance, and in implementing policies and programs that promote diversity.

“We are delighted to partner with the Office of Legacy Management and to continue our long-standing work that has supported LM in making consistent improvements year over year,” said Hany Malik, chairman and founder, Suntiva. “From enhancing employee development to assisting managers become more effective leaders, we derive great satisfaction in witnessing the positive, long-lasting outcomes and impact on the organization of our specialized, psychology-based approach.”
