As the CBU Operations and PMO manager, I am responsible for the processes, procedures, and tools that our project managers employ on their projects to maintain quality delivery across all projects.  I develop, disseminate, and track project financial performance metrics for our Program Managers and CBU Leadership team. I developed and support our proposal management processes, managing proposal responses to solicitation when they are released by the Government.  Specifically wearing my operations hat, I support business unit budget creation and management to include annual labor and indirect expense plan, bid and proposal budgets, and our monthly forecasts that go to the CFO.  I manage and provide tasking for our one PMO Analyst, who directly supports our project managers by providing financial analyst support, as well as providing ad hoc project support. I also support our CMMI and ISO practices.

What do you enjoy most in working with Suntiva's clients? How do we make a difference in our clients' work?
My clients are internal to Suntiva, but my work impacts our delivery to all customers we support—I support our BD and Growth team with proposal management, our Program and Project Managers with processes and tools to make their work as efficient and high quality as possible, the overall business unit with the general processes they need to get their work done.  During this period of rapid growth for our business unit, I’ve often been told that my support keeps the wheels of the bus turning.  My focus is on providing the right infrastructure to our team, so our growth happens as smoothly as possible, with no loss in quality of delivery.

My most impactful project was last year’s development and refinement of our proposal process.  This process gave us the structure needed to respond thirteen RFQs within a three month period, winning eleven of them.

What influenced or drove you become an expert in your field?
I crossed over (from technical) into management early in my career, driven by my skills in planning, organizing and ability to pull a team together to get a job done. I’ve managed many large and small projects over my career working across a wide spectrum of project delivery, from software development, data administration, financial management support, and training and curriculum development programs. As my expertise grew in project and program management, I earned my PMP.  When I joined Suntiva I saw the opportunity to take the skills I had acquired over 18 years and apply them to a growing organization.  Once here, I developed the concept of our Suntiva PMO to bring the structure we need to grow and win!

What drives or inspires you to work at Suntiva?
The CBU has a highly motivated team in place, where we all play to our strengths, supporting one another to accomplish our joint mission of bringing quality workforce development services to our customers.  The team’s dedication to the work is inspiring and provides immense job satisfaction.
