Suntivans love the work they do and do the work they love. See how in our series of employee profiles called Suntiva Spotlights.
I am currently a Senior Consultant for Suntiva supporting the Army as an SPS (Standard Procurement System) Systems Administrator for their acceptance/test environment.
What do you think makes Suntiva a great place to work? Why do you enjoy working for Suntiva?
For me, the people are what makes Suntiva a great place to work. Since I joined the team, everyone has been so helpful in helping me transition into my role. I enjoy being able to work with a diverse group that encourages professional growth and teamwork, while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
What do you enjoy most in working with Suntiva’s clients?
I enjoy working with Suntiva’s clients because we share the same mission in supporting the warfighter. I love that no matter what issues arise, we value teamwork and collaboration to accomplish the same goal, while sustaining good relationships. Our current client, combined with our Suntiva team, make it enjoyable to come to work every day.
How are we making a difference in our client’s work?
As a part of the testing team, we ensure that all new software upgrades and patches are working prior to being implemented to the production environment. This ensures the software is ready for our clients to use to support our troops as best they can.
What is your most impactful project with a client?
The most impactful project I’ve had since joining Suntiva was the SR17b upgrade and testing cycles that were implemented on the acceptance environment during the summer of 2019. There was a total of seven different upgrades (including SR17b) that were scheduled to be completed by the end of the summer and all of them overlapped in scheduled test dates. At most, there were 3 upgrades that were being tested at one time, but our team was able to meet the deadlines for all test cycles and were the only branch to finish the entire package for SR17b.
What influenced or drove you to become an expert in your field?
After graduating college, I was deployed overseas as a contractor a few years working to support the military for the first time. It was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences I’ve had in my career and I am forever grateful for having had that opportunity. Knowing that the work we do currently at Suntiva impacts our troops provides both satisfaction and motivation to continue to be the best I can be.
What drives or inspires you to work at Suntiva?
The people, the company vision, and the core values are what inspires me to work for Suntiva. Suntiva encourages its employees to expand their professional advancement by engaging new projects within the different Business Units, and the future of the company looks bright with the continuing amount of growth.
